The Saints won five of the first six events, building a commanding 67-45 lead en route to a 159-133 women's swim meet victory at Holy Cross Wednesday evening. Sophomore Dana Golino and freshman Ashley Serrago combined for five individual event victories and paired with two other Siena swimmers on the winning 200-medley team to open the meet.
Serrago and Golino teamed with Kaitlin Krause and Kristin Robinson in the 200-medley. The quarter finished the course in 1:55.23 to take the top honor. Serrag then followed with an easy win in the 1000-yard freestyle. Golino grabbed the insuing 200-free and afterShana Allen captured second in the 100-yeard backstroke, Robinson cruised to a three-second win in the 200-butterfly.
Krause followed with second place showing in the 50-yard sprint, preceding Jessica Shahda's first of two victories on the springboard. Senior Kelly Collins picked her first victory of the season in the 100-yard freestyle and Golino landed her second first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke. Serrago's other victory came in the ensuing 500-free, while Golino notched her third victory in the 100-fly to round out Siena's first place finishes.
The Saints return to the water on Saturday as they open their MAAC season at Manhattan.
