Kelly Pangburn (West Seneca, N.Y.) earned victories in the 100, 500 and 1000-yard freestyle events pacing Siena's (1-1) 161-129 victory over Holy Cross in women's swimming action at the Marcelle Athletic Complex Wednesday evening. Freshman Kaitlin Krause cruised to wins in the 200-freestyle and 100-breaststroke in other action for the Saints.
The event began with the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competition both won by the Crusaders' Carolyn Pucko. Siena sophomore Leah Serbalik narrowly missed out on the 3-meter platform, falling to Pucko by just two points.
Freshman Kristine Robinson won the 200-yard butterfly by nearly 11 seconds with a time of 2:14.87 for Siena. Martha Kroll followed with a win in the 50-yard sprint in 25.13.
Following Pangburn's second victory, freshman Dana Golino coasted to an eight second victory in the 200-backstroke. Holy Cross' only individual victories came in the 100-yard backstroke as Emily Ferris touched out Golino at the line and the 500-freestyle won by Abby Lemieux.
Siena swam the final three events in exhibition.
The Saints return to action at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Manhattan in their first MAAC meet of the season.
