The Siena swimming and diving team dropped a 176-119 decision to the University of Vermont.  It was Siena’s eighth straight loss against the Catamounts.

Siena (6-3-1) was led by Kaela Bjornberg who won three individual races for the Saints.  The senior finished in the top in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.02), 200 breast (2:28.24), and the 100 fly (1:00.37). 

Shannon Love also had a first place finish for the Saints.  Love continued her impressive showing in the 50 free finishing with a time of 24.66, only two one-hundredths of a second ahead of the second place finisher.  She also finished second in the 100 free (54.63).

Freshman Megan Grace also swam well for the Saints.  Grace finished second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:51.00, less than two seconds from the top time.

Valerie Zeffiro also has a top three finish, clocking in third in the 100 back (1:02.65)

Reigning MAAC Diver of the Week, Hailey Beers once again had the top score for Siena, but finished fourth in the 1-meter (162.45), and second in the three meter (209.05).  Freshman Kate Ackert finished right behind her with a score of 142.90 on the one-meter and 140.40 on the three.

Vermont (4-2) set one pool record on the afternoon.  That came in the 200 backstroke as Ilsa Feierabend recorded a time of 2:07.87, which broke a four year record set by Loyola.

Siena will next travel to Niagara in a conference matchup on November 10 at 1:00 p.m.
