Siena Swimming currently ranks as the seventh best team after two days of competition in Buffalo for the 2017 MAAC Championships. Marist remains in the lead after 13 total events.
Freshman Katie Ludwicki started Thursday evening's event finals for the Saints in the 500 freestyle. Ludwicki picked up two points for Siena with her 15th place finish (5:18.43). Junior Fiona Dretzka was next in the pool for the Saints, in the 200 IM finals. Dretzka finished in 15th place (2:14.19).
Siena ended the second night in Buffalo with the 200 freestyle relay. The Saints' team of Colleen McDonough, Brigid Wynne, Maggie Davenport, and Alyssa Lewis finished in eighth place (1:40.69), collecting 22 points for Siena.
The Saints will be back in the pool at 10 a.m. Friday for the prelims of the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke. The evening session will begin at 6 p.m. and feature the event finals for the five events from the morning session, as well as the 1000 freestyle and the 400 medley relay.
