Senior captain Dana Tricarico touched first in the 100-free, highlighting a strong all-around performance in Siena's convincing 126-79 rout of Sacred Heart on Senior Day. The Saints honored Kelly Levine, Lea Allen, Christen Cherry and Tricarico in a special pre-meet ceremony.
Siena dominated the sprints and free styles, and both divers turned in solid performances to cap off the win.
Megan Grace and Jacque Medina finished first and second respectively in both the 1000 and 500-free. Shannon Love won the 50-free in 25.32, Emily Carideo took the 200-medley, Amanda York won the 200-fly, Dory Miller touched first in the 200-back, and Kelsey Helin won the 200-breast, giving the Saints eight different winners on the 13-event card.
Hailey Beers captured the 1-meter and 3-meter diving with impressive scores of 208 and 242.2. Teammate Kate Ackert posted personal bests on both platforms, logging a 165.35 on the 1-meter and a 167.65 on the 3-meter.
Sacred Heart started the meet by winning the 200-medley relay with the team of Olivia Decas, Malvina Reinhold, Lizzy Bennett and Jillian Crosby. Crosby came back two events later to win the 200-free, but those were the only two victories for the Pioneers all day.
Siena swept the platform in the 200-back and 200-breast, gaining enough separation to be in exhibition for the final three events.
The Saints have 12 days off before the MAAC Championships commence February 13 in Buffalo. Today's effort should be the perfect tune-up for the season's main event.
