The Siena swim team defeated Sacred Heart University this afternoon in Loudonville. The Saints were led by the strong swimming of sophomore's Kaitlin Krause and Dana Golino who each placed first in three events this afternoon. Krause took home first in the 200-yard freestyle 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke in times of 2:02.07, 1:13.38, and 2:35.53, respectively. Golino placed first in the 100-yard (1:00.49) and 200-yard (2:12.05) backstroke along with the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.22). Freshman Ashley Serrago placed first in both the 50-yard (26.54) and 100-yard freestyle (55.28).
Siena cruised to the victory placing first in 10 of the first 11 events of the day giving them a comfortable 135-63 lead. Siena elected to exhibition three of the final five events of the day and ended up placing first in 12 of the 13 events they were scored in. Siena's Leah Serbalik placed first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with scores of 241.85 and 263.75. Teammate Jessica Shahda placed second in both events with scores of 220.60 and 237.35.
Today's meet wrapped up the regular season for the Siena swimming and diving team.
