Siena Swimming was back in the pool on Monday afternoon to battle MAAC opponent Fairfield. The Stags bested the Saints in the meet, 142-95. Maggie Fletcher and Fiona Dretzka picked up one individual victory each for Siena.
In the team’s second meet in three days, Siena opened with a win in the 400 medley relay (4:37.63) with a team of Dretzka, Erica Askew, Elizabeth Fournier, and Colleen McDonough. In the next event, the 800 freestyle, Emma Rupert (9:38.95) and Carrie Bonvissuto (9:52.56) finished in second and third for the Saints.
Senior co-captain Fletcher took home the victory in the 200 freestyle (2:15.32), narrowly edging past freshman teammate Katie Ludwicki (2:15.33). McDonough added a second place finish in the 50 freestyle (28.88) and Dretzka placed second in the 200 IM (2:32.62). Then, Fairfield scored a crucial 16 points in 1 meter diving, and later 16 more in 3 meter, events in which the Saints did not compete.
