GENERAL...One of three captains this season...Competes in the backstroke and individual medley events...Has made strides in development that has led to her competing in individual medley events this season.

2006-07: Recorded her lone first place finish of the season with a time of 1:06.94 in the 100-yard backstroke at Niagara (1/20)...Tallied a pair of second place finishes in both the 200 IM (10/14 vs. Vermont) and the 200-yard breaststroke (10/21 @ UNH)...Set a career best time of 2:19.31 in the 200-yard backstroke at the MAAC Championships.

2005-06: Captured one second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke versus Niagara (1/21/06)...Registered four third-place finishes, including the 200-yard Individual Medley versus Vermont (10/29/05), the 200-yard Individual Medley versus Sacred Heart/Fairfield (12/3/05), the 200-yard backstroke versus Marist (1/14/06) and the 400-yard Individual Medley versus Niagara (1/21/06).

2004-05: Placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle versus Holy Cross (11/3/04)...Tallied three third-place finishes including the 1000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke at Niagara/Canisius (11/6/04) and the 400-yard Individual Medley versus Marist (1/15/05).

BEFORE SIENA: Lettered four years of varsity swimming and one year of both spring and winter track and field...Named All-League in swimming throughout all four years of high school career...Team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior years...Team captain her senior year.

PERSONAL: Born May 26, 1986...The daughter of John and Julie Giunta...Has an older sister Jeanine, who was a member of the swimming and diving team at Siena College...Also has a younger brother...A marketing and management major.
