Dec. 12, 2013
The Siena softball program has announced the schedule for their 2014 winter clinics. All three clinics will be run by the Siena softball coaching staff.
The first and second clinics are open to players of all ages. Participants will be grouped by age/skill level to ensure everyone receives the appropriate instruction. The third clinic is a recruiting clinic for softball players with 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 high school graduation years.
All participants will receive 90 minutes of instruction on defensive skills at the position or positions of their choice. Beginning pitchers will learn basic fundamentals and mechanics, and advanced pitchers will learn mechanics for specific pitches.
Pitching coach Casey Halloran-Bump will lead the pitching instruction. Halloran-Bump earned her pedigree during her years as a pitcher for the UAlbany Great Danes where she led the Great Danes to back-to-back-to-back America East Championships in 2005-2007.
All position players will focus on techniques of throwing and fielding, along with skills specific to their defensive positions.
Participants will also receive 90 minutes of instruction for offensive skills, including techniques for hitting, bunting, slapping and base running.
Registration and check-in will begin 30-minutes prior on the day of the clinic, but pre-registration is encouraged. For more information, contact Assistant Coach Casey Halloran-Bump at 518-783-2916 or email@example.com.
