Capital Region softball legend Casey Halloran-Bump will join the Siena softball program this season as the team's top assistant as announced by Head coach Bill Lajeunesse on Tuesday afternoon. Halloran-Bump comes from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where she was the programs pitching coach and assistant since 2009.

"Casey brings with her a wealth of experience as a pitching coach to the Siena program! Casey had a stand out high school and college career as a pitcher at Columbia high school and the University of Albany where she won numerous awards for her play", said coach Bill Lajeunesse. "Casey has enjoyed coaching success as the pitching coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This experience will help our pitching staff gain the knowledge needed to compete at the Division-1 level and in the MAAC Conference."

Casey will be responsible for working with all day-to-day operations of the softball program. She will be involved in the recruitment of players as well as the management of the softball program. Halloran-Bump will be instrumental in player development as the programs pitchers and catchers coach. She will also assist as the hitting coach and coach first base on game day.

Halloran-Bump earned her pedigree during her years as a pitcher for the UAlbany Great Danes where she led the Great Danes to back-to-back-to-back America East Championships in 2005-2007 while earning America East Tournament MVP twice and the America East Pitcher of the Year and UAlbany Athlete of the Year in 2006.

During her career at UAlbany, Halloran-Bump rewrote the softball record book for all pitching statistical categories. She finished her pitching career in 2007 with seven records, including most career wins (27), strikeouts (595), Complete Games (68), Games Started (97), Innings Pitched (650.2), Appearances (125), and No-Hitters (4). Halloran-Bump still holds four pitching records today (Wins, Innings Pitched, Appearances, Games Started).

After her collegiate career, Halloran-Bump continued to work in the Capital Region softball community for the Troy City School District where she coached varsity and junior varsity softball from 2007-2010 and owns Casey Halloran's Fast Pitch Universe to provide pitching and hitting lessons to players.
