LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Softball’s Madysen Cossack has been chosen as a member of the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I All-Star Team. The sophomore was voted onto the ECAC Second Team, along with two other MAAC players.
The California native is just the fifth ever ECAC All-Star in program history and the first since Shannon Jones and Jessika-Jo Sandrini were honored in 2012. Cossack was previously awarded MAAC Player of the Year Honors, All MAAC First Team, and NFCA All-Region Third Team after an incredible sophomore season for the Saints.
Cossack started every game this season for the Saints and led the team in nearly every statistical category including average (.379), runs (27), hits (53), doubles (15), home runs (10), RBI (45), and total bases (98). She tied the single season record with her 15 doubles and had the second-most RBI in a single season in program history. Her 2017 numbers rank sixth in home runs, ninth in hits, and fifth in total bases in the Siena Softball record book for a single season.
After her first two years as a Saint, the first baseman currently sits sixth in the career records with a .346 batting average, third with a .443 on-base percentage, and fourth with a slugging percentage of .564.
The Saints will return Cossack and 16 other players next season following their seventh straight 20-win season and program record 14 MAAC victories.
