Six Saints Earn MAAC Softball All-Academic Honors

Siena placed six student-athletes on the recently released MAAC softball All-Academic Team. Jen Duell, Courtney Mahan, Lindsey McKeever, Jessica Mushel, Stacie Sueda and Lauren Weingart each were recognized for their success in the classroom. Duell, a sophomore from Tolland, Conn., owns a 3.32 GPA in biology. She appeared in 19 games this year batting .154 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Mahan, a senior history major from Latham, N.Y., recently graduated with a 3.2 GPA. Mahan started 45 games batting .202 with two home runs and 10 RBI. McKeever, a sophomore from Mechanicville has a 3.2 GPA in history. She appeared in 51 games, making 45 starts. She batted .271 and stole eight bases. Mushel, a senior history education major from Hyde Park, boasts a 3.60 GPA. She started 40 of the 44 games she appeared in this year batting .239 with seven runs scored. Sueda, a senior biology major from Honolulu, Hawaii, held a 3.55 GPA. She started nine of the 21 games she appeared in before a season-ending injury. Weingart, a senior history major from Fishkill, N.Y. sported a 3.46 GPA. Weingart polished off a stellar career by batting .322 with seven home runs and 20 RBI in 45 games played.
