The Siena softball team had to wait 10 years between MAAC Championship appearances and then sit through a rain delay of nearly four hours before their first round game with Niagara. They will have to wait a little longer before knowing the outcome. The game was suspended in the top of the sixth due to darkness with Niagara holding a 3-2 lead. Play will resume at 10 a.m. Friday.

Niagara scored all three of its runs in the third inning, but Siena rallied for two in the fourth. The game was called after Siena batted in the fifth. Amber Farmer, Niagara's sixth place hitter is due up. The Saints will have the top of their order up in the bottom of the sixth, anchored by Shannon Jones who doubled home the first run and scored the second. Jennifer Sansano has nine strikeouts for Niagara.
