Siena junior Stephanie Viggiano was one of 11 student athletes in District I named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Viggiano, a Seaford, N.Y. native, carries a 3.87 cumulative GPA as an accounting major and leads the team with 52 hits and 12 doubles.
Viggiano was one of five infielders named to the team, including a total of five student athletes on the District I First Team are from the MAAC Conference.
Viggiano is currently second on the team with a .338 batting average and leads the team with 28 runs scored.
Viggiano and the Saints finish up the 2014 regular season this weekend at home with doubleheaders on Saturday (Saint Peter’s) and Sunday (Niagara). Siena currently sits third in the MAAC standings at 10-6.
The 2014 Capital One Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.
