LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Saints continue to work this offseason as they prepare to defend their 2013 Regular Season MAAC Championship. The 54-game schedule is comprised of teams from 11 different conferences including schools from the Big East, America East, Ivy and the Patriot League.
"This year's schedule will be pretty competitive with games against a lot of good, quality squads, starting at East Tennessee and then our Florida trip, but we look to come out with some wins," said Coach Lajeunesse. "Our spring trip schedule will prepare us well for the competition we play at home later this year."
The 2014 campaign starts on February 22 as they travel to Johnson City, Tennessee to face Oakland and East Tennessee State for the Buccaneer Challenge Presented by Holiday Inn.
Siena then travels to Winter Haven, Florida for the Rebel Springs Games where they will play 12-games against a number of teams from various conferences, including Army, Bucknell, and Creighton. The Saints finish up their tournament play with the Robert Morris Colonial Classic, starting March 21-23.
The remaining non-conference road schedule consists of three games against cross-town rival UAlbany, the defending America East Regular Season Champions. Siena also travels to Colgate and Holy Cross.
Sacred Heart and Cornell travel to play the Saints in Loudonville to complete the 2014 non-conference schedule.
The Saints play at home for the first time on March 30 for the start of MAAC play against the Manhattan Jaspers.
Siena will close the regular season with seven straight home contests, including games against defending MAAC Champions Marist on May 1, followed by doubleheaders with Saint Peter's and Niagara.
The 2014 MAAC Championship format has been expanded to a six-team format over four days of competition with the first day of competition beginning on Wednesday, May 7. The championship will be held at Alumni Softball Field on the campus of Fairfield University from May 7 - 10 with the Sunday, May 11 as the rain day.
