Softball Clinches First MAAC Playoff Appearance in 10 Years

GENERAL- Developed into the ace of the staff as a rookie and has not let up...Possesses great competitiveness, terrific control and above-average velocity in fastball...One of the top pitchers in program history who already holds several school career recrds...A two-time All-Grossmont League selection in high school...Daughter of Anthony and Jane Campbell.

AS A JUNIOR- An All-MAAC Academic selection...Started 18 of 20 games in the circle ending the season with an 8-12 record...Pitched a team-high 130.0 innings and posted a team-best 2.75 ERA...Recorded a team best 114 strikeouts and held opponents to a .256 batting average... Had two hard-luck losses while tossing one-hitters against both Hartford (3/20) and Albany (5/4)...Batted .278 on the season with five hits in 18 at bats...Drove in two runs and scored three times...

AS A SOPHOMORE- Started 17 games in the circle ending the season with an 8-9 record...Pitched a team-high 127.1 innings, posting a team-best ERA 2.20...Collected a team-best 121 strikeouts and held opponents to a .230 batting average...Batted .287 on the season with 23 hits in 80 at bats...Drove in six runs, had two doubles, and scored six times...Against Binghamton (4/22) she had three hits and drove in two runs at four at bats. ...Pitched a no-hitter at Iona (5/1).

AS A FRESHMAN-An All-MAAC Second Team Selection...Led team with 2.35 ERA...Collected team-best 98 strikeouts in 122.1 innings of work...Limited opponents to a .247 batting average and walked just 52.

BRUN ON CAMPBELL- "Tara has come back this season on a mission. She's been working hard with our pitching coach on adding another pitch to her regimen and perfecting some of her older junk. You'll see her starting again this year and we'll be giving her a lot of opportunities at the plate."
