Women's Soccer Set to Square off with Niagara on Senior Day

Nov. 3, 2007

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's soccer team is set to square off with defending MAAC champion Niagara (9-6-2, 4-2-2) tomorrow afternoon in its final contest of the regular season. This marks the programs first meeting since their championship bout last year in Fairfield, Conn. A Siena (8-8-1, 5-3-0) victory or tie will secure the team a spot in the 2007 MAAC Championships four team field. Kick off is set for noon.

Prior to the contest, Siena will honor its eight graduating seniors during the team's Senior Day ceremony. Seniors Amy Loughridge, Kara Sefcik, Madeline Rickard, Jen Smith, Katie Goodwin, Katie Mulligan, Tara Ross and Susie Blaisdell will be recognized for all their accomplishments with the women's soccer program over the past four years.

The Saints currently stand 5-3-0 in league play, and boast an impressive 6-1-0 home record. Last season, the Purple Eagles slightly edged Siena 2-1 in the MAAC Championship game.
