LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's soccer is about to play its most anticipated home opener in program history. The Saints are currently receiving votes in the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) National Poll and are ranked 10th in the Northeast after starting the season with comeback road wins against UConn and Stony Brook.

Siena (2-0) hosts Providence (3-0) in its home opener at Siena Field this Friday at 4 p.m.

The Saints returned all 11 starters from last year's squad and added a strong freshmen class highlighted by forward Brittany Pfaff. She scored the golden goal in a 3-2 overtime win at UConn and then scored two second half goals in a 4-2 win at Stony Brook. Pfaff was named MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Last season, Siena defeated Providence 2-1 in overtime. Caitlin Cahalan (57') and Jill Roth (95') scored the goals for Siena and goalkeeper Laura Ettinger made seven saves.

Providence has yet to surrender a goal this season. They have shutout Sacred Heart (2-0), Iona (4-0) and American (1-0).
