LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's head soccer coach Steve Karbowski has named seniors Cara Riley, Tabitha Tice and Jenna Placke and junior Shannon Clancy captains for the 2010 season. Karbowski also released the team's spring schedule that will kickoff this Saturday at Fairleigh Dickinson.

"Our captains will provide strong leadership and direction as we look to capture our first MAAC Championship this fall," Karbowski said.

Riley and Tice are the team's starting center midfielders. They both earned All-MAAC Second Team honors last season. Riley started all 17 games and tallied nine points on one goal and seven assists. Tice started all 12 games she played in and had four assists.

Placke is a two-year starter at outside back and Clancy stepped into a starting role at center back this past season. Both players appeared in every game and led the Saints to the best defense in the league (0.94 goals/game).

The Saints begin their spring schedule on Saturday, March 27 with three games at Fairleigh Dickinson in Teaneck, New Jersey. Siena plays Iona at 11 a.m., Fairleigh Dickinson at 1 p.m. and Seton Hall at 2 p.m.

Siena plays two more road games before the annual alumni game. The Saints will face Hartford on April 16 at 7 p.m. and Holy Cross on April 18 at 1 p.m.

The alumni game is scheduled for April 24 at Siena College at 3 p.m.

Siena returns all 11 starters from last year's squad that went 12-5 and finished second in the MAAC (6-3).
