Erin DeMatteo scored a hat trick to lead the Saints to a 3-1 victory over Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Manhattan College this afternoon at Siena Field in Loudonville, N.Y. With the win the Saints kept their MAAC Tournament hopes alive and now stand at 8-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the conference. With the loss the Jaspers fall to 5-12-0 on the season and 5-3-0 in MAAC play.

DeMatteo netted her first goal of the afternoon just 12 minutes into the first half on a cross by freshman Kristen Turner. DeMatteo gave her team a two-goal lead a little under ten minutes later as Turner gave a through ball to Vicki Fenley who set DeMatteo up for the tally. Manhattan closed the gap however about five minutes later on a goal by Jess Garcia. The two teams entered half time with a 3-1 score in favor of the Green and Gold.

DeMatteo continued her scoring mission in the second half sealing the victory with a goal at the 71:58 minute mark. Turner again assisted on the goal, this time with help from classmate Megan Helf.

The Saints outshot the Jaspers 23-7.

Noel Cox made two saves in the cage for Siena while Jeanne Marie Gilbert stop eight shots for Manhattan.

The Saints will enter their final game of the regular season on Sunday, Senior Day, when they play host to St. Pete's College. Game-time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
