LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Rider scored early and late in the second half to pull away from Siena 2-0 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match played on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams played evenly in the first half with each team getting four shots. Rider (6-11, 4-3 MAAC) broke the ice when Sarah Artale broke free and beat Siena goalie Noel Cox (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) in the 50th minute.

Siena (3-9-3, 3-3-1 MAAC) dominated the early part of the second half generating numerous scoring chances but Rider goalie Erin Wolleon was up to the task, making a handful of nice stops.

Rider controlled the latter part of the second half, finishing with a 10-6 advantage in shots. Colleen Evans finished the scoring in the 88th minute. Cox made four saves for the Saints while Wolleon made two saves for the Broncs.

Before the game, siena honored the five senior members of the Class of 2003 - Cristina Coloccia, Michelle Fraser, Nicole Orlandella, Colleen Smyth and Allyson Spencer.

The win vaults Rider past Siena in the conference standings. The Saints finish the season on the road at Canisius and Niagara next weekend.
