LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Abi Cottam scored with just six seconds remaining in double overtime as Rider handed Siena Women's Soccer a crushing 2-1 loss Friday afternoon. With the defeat, Siena was eliminated from MAAC Tournament contention.

Just 25 seconds earlier, Cottam broke free and had a wide open goal to shoot at but missed wide right. She would not make the same mistake twice. Tara Ballay created a two-on-one and fed Cottam who would finish her second open look.

Rider (10-3-3, 5-2-1) out-shot Siena (6-10-1, 2-5-1) 30-12 and was also whistled for being offside seven times.

After a scoreless first half, both sides struck quickly to begin the second stanza. Jennifer Meier put the Broncs on the board first just 1:18 into the half. Siena responded just five minutes later on a beautifully executed attack.

Caitlin Cahalan led in Taylor D'Alfonso towards the left corner flag. D'Alfonso then sent a low, line drive cross in that Kelly Ristoff headed in to knot the score at 1-1. It was the freshman's second goal of the season.

Taylor Booth was busy making eight saves for the Saints, while Jenn Nichols made five stops for Rider which snapped a five-match winless streak against Siena.

The Saints put a bow on the 2012 season Sunday when they welcome Loyola to Siena Field for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Prior to the match at 12:45 p.m. the Saints will honor senior captains Cahalan, Nicole Daly and Lisa Valenziano in a Senior Day ceremony.
