Final Stats

Siena Women's Soccer closes out their regular season with a 1-0 victory over Rider. Siena has won six of their final seven matches to close out the 2017 regular season.

The Saints last defeated Rider in 2010. Siena and the Broncs played to draws in both 2011 and 2014. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Dorado's recorded her sixth shutout of the season which is ranked tied four fourth for most shutouts in a single season by a Siena player.

Rider (4-9-2, 4-3-2 MAAC) took control early and recorded 13 shots in the first half, but Dorado came up with eight in the first half to help keep the slate clean for Siena (10-7, 6-4 MAAC). The Saints would take just four shots in the first half, but all four would be stopped by Carmen Carbonell to leave the score tied 0-0 at the half.

The Broncs again controlled play in the second half, but Siena senior Madison Vasquez grabbed a short pass from Darby D'Angelo in the 80th minute to put the Saints up 1-0. Rider would make two solid attempts in the 81st and 87th minute to tie the match, but Dorado was a solid wall in the net and capped off an 11 save match to garner her sixth shutout of 2017.

The Saints now have two weeks off before the MAAC Tournament begins on Saturday, October 28 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
