LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Jill Lanzl scored three times during a 10-minute span in the first half, leading Siena to a 3-0 victory over Iona Sunday afternoon. The victory was Siena's first of the season.

Lanzl (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) got the scoring started for Siena (1-7-2, 1-1 MAAC) in the 29th minute when she took a lob from Vicki Fenley (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) and beat Iona (1-9-1, 1-1-1 MAAC) goalie Alicia Wisnewski. Less than five minutes later, Corry Silon (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) rocketed a shot off the crossbar and Lanzl put home the rebound for her second goal of the game. In the 39th minute, the junior fired a shot off the post and in with Nicole Orlandella (Peabody, Mass./Champlain Coll.) getting credit for the assist.

Lanzl leads the Saints in scoring with four goals and an assist. The offensive outburst was long awaited for the Green and Gold. Siena had managed just four goals in its first nine games of the season.

Noel Cox (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) and Krista Nordmark (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) combined to make five saves in the shutout. The Saints dominated action throughout, outshooting the Gaels 16-8.

The Saints hit the road next weekend playing at Manhattan and Saint Peter's.
