The Siena College Saints scored two goals in the first half to take a 2-1 victory over Holy Cross this afternoon at Siena Field. With the win the Saints now sit at .500 on the season and enter conference play this weekend with a 4-4 record, while the Crusaders drop to 1-9 overall.

Junior Jen Kies scored the first goal of the afternoon just 9:53 into the game to give the Saints a one-goal lead. The Green and Gold then took a two-goal advantage at the 30:48 mark as Erin Hutnick found the back of the net on a cross by Kristen Turner. The Saints took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Eileen Tetreault put away a cross from Kelli Jones to pull the Crusaders to within on goal of the Saints at the 65:43 mark, but the two-goal lead held up as Holy Cross was unable to stage a comeback.

The Saints had multiple opportunities to put the game away down the stretch but were unable to convert. Siena outshot the Crusaders 14-6.

Noel Cox made two saves in the net for the Saints, while Christine Arsenault came up with four stops for Holy Cross.

The Saints enter MAAC play this weekend as they travel to Baltimore, Md. to face Loyola College. Game-time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
