Victoria Reis scored the decisive goal in the 77th minute to give Manhattan a 2-1 victory over Siena Women’s Soccer in Riverdale, New York. Senior captain Kelsey Horst scored for the Saints which suffered their fourth straight defeat, and third consecutive 2-1 loss.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Dorado made five saves for Siena (4-6, 0-3) which lost for just the seventh time in 29 all-time meetings against Manhattan (3-5-1, 1-1).

The Saints controlled the action early, but it was Erica Modena who gave the Jaspers the lead in the 10th minute. Modena attempted five of Manhattan’s six first half shots.

Siena would respond right before the end of the first half with Horst giving the Saints a key boost in the 42nd minute. Junior striker Meghan Riccardi – playing in her first match of 2017 – led in Horst who finished for her first score of the season and the 10th of her career.

But the Jaspers would strike last, reclaiming the lead for good with 12:25 remaining in the match. Emma Saul crossed in a corner which Reis corralled and fired home for the game-winning goal.

Siena held a 17-13 advantage in shots, although Manhattan posted a 7-3 edge in shots on target.

The Saints will look to get back on track Wednesday when they host Canisius at 3 p.m. at Siena Field.
