LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Women's lacrosse head coach Jake McHerron received two binding National Letters of Intent from Allie Kain (Williston Park, N.Y./Mineola High School) and Jackie Papa (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendahowa High school). The pair will join the Saints in the 2006-07 academic year.

"These are two players who we have been interested in for about a year now, and to know they will be joining us next season is a great thrill," said McHerron. "Both are pivotal players on their current teams and will factor in immediately when they join us on the field next season."

Allie Kain is a midfielder at Mineola where she also plays soccer and is on the track team. As a junior, she notched 43 goals, 10 assists and 38 groundballs. Kain was selected All-Conference and All-Nassau County this past season in lacrosse, while also garnering an All-Conference nod in track.

"Allie (Kain) is a great all-around athlete who will add both speed and size to our team," stated McHerron. "Her potential is endless and we are looking forward to her joining the program."

Jackie Papa plays both midfield and defense at Shenendahowa where she also plays soccer and runs track. Last season, she blasted home 20 goals and racked up 16 assists. In the past two seasons, Papa was recognized with All-League, All-Capital Region and All-Galaxy League honors for her play on the field.

"Jackie (Papa) will help strengthen the defense with her athletic ability," commented McHerron. "Her blend of speed and experience will translate well to this level and we look forward to her continuing her playing career here in the Capital Region."
