Two-Time Defending MAAC Champion Canisius Overpowers Saints
Tori Quinn and Lindsey Morgan scored five points apiece, pacing two-time defending MAAC Champion Canisius to a 13-3 win over Siena Women's Lacrosse Wednesday night in Buffalo. Senior captain Katie Maguire scored twice for the Saints, extending her point scoring streak to 26 games.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Siena Women's Lacrosse begins its quest for the program's first MAAC Championship when the fourth seeded Saints face two-time defending MAAC Champion and top seed Canisius in the conference semifinals at 4:30 p.m. at Tenney Stadium. The game will be webstreamed on MAAC.TV.

Siena makes its fourth straight MAAC Tournament Appearance and fifth in program history. The Saints are 1-4 all-time in the conference championships and are in search of the program's first win since its inaugural MAAC Tournament Appearance in 2005.

The Saints enter this weekend with momentum having won back-to-back games to qualify for the tournament. But if the Saints are to advance to the MAAC Championship Game for the second time, they will need to play their best lacrosse of the year Friday.

The MAAC Regular Season Champions, Canisius looks to become the first school in conference history to win three straight titles. The Golden Griffins reeled off nine consecutive wins earlier this season and three of their four losses have come at the hands of nationally ranked opponents and their other defeat was at Louisville.

Canisius has won seven in a row over the Saints, including a 13-3 decision in Buffalo Apr. 10.

But Siena has not back down from the big stage before. Earlier this season, Siena knocked off five-time defending MAAC Regular Season Champion Fairfield, snapping the Stags 30-game conference winning streak. Today, the Saints look to end the pursuit of more MAAC history and stifle the Golden Griffins attempt at a three-peat.
