Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena women's lacrosse freshman attack Caitlin Mikel was tabbed MAAC Player of the Week earlier this afternoon by conference officials. Mikel tallied four goals and five assists for nine total points in just two games over the past week in which the Saints defeated Central Connecticut State and fell to UAlbany.

Mikel had an outstanding week for the Saints, pacing the Green and Gold to their first win of the season. In Siena's 19-8 win over Central Connecticut on Saturday, Mikel led all scorers, recording a hat trick while adding four assists for seven total points. Then in Monday's loss to UAlbany, she picked up right where she left off, adding another goal and an assist to her already impressive freshman campaign.

The native of Rochester, N.Y. currently leads the Saints through their first three games of the season with ten total points, which ranks second in the conference. Her six helpers currently tie her for the league lead.

Mikel and the Saints will enjoy some time off after a plethora of games early in the season. The Green and Gold return to action Mar. 12 for their first stop on a five game road trip against Binghamton in the Saints' first night game of the season, set to get underway at 6 p.m.
