LOUDONVILLE -- Both Maggie Deloria and Julia Sirianni knew that their days of playing lacrosse weren't over when they graduated from Saratoga Springs High School.

The former teammates both ending up at Siena College, though, wasn't part of the original plan.

While Deloria, a senior, has worked her way through the ranks to become one of four team captains, Sirianni transferred to Siena in the summer of 2012 after spending her freshman year at UAlbany. The duo is part of a group of eight student-athletes who played high school in Section II, and fifth-year head coach Andrea Cofrin said that the heavy local contingent is no accident.

"My uncle (former RPI football coach Kevin Earl) coached around the area, and his best advice was, `Make sure you recruit out of your backyard,'" she said. "That's exactly what we've been doing for the last five years."
