Irish Eyes Are Smiling
Freshman Alyssa Treanor could not have asked for a better St. Patrick's Day. Treanor, who's 100% Irish, netted her first career hat trick including the game-winner in overtime as Siena Women's Lacrosse defeated Bryant 9-8 Saturday afternoon at Siena Turf Field.

Under the leadership of now fifth-year head coach Andrea Cofrin, the Saints have a new look entering the 2013 season. Siena graduated its top two scorers, starting goalie and a total of six starters from last year's team.

But the Saints do return six experienced starters and a strong young nucleus, eager to lead the program to an unprecedented fourth straight MAAC Tournament Appearance this spring.

Siena posted a 6-11 overall record last season and finished tied for third in the MAAC with a 3-3 conference mark. The Saints qualified for the MAAC Tournament for a third straight year by virtue of finishing as one of the top-four teams in the league.

Led by their four senior captains including Preseason All-MAAC selections Katie Maguire and Amanda Peguillan, the Saints were picked fifth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Siena is 4-0 all-time against Bryant including a 9-8 overtime win in Loudonville last season.
