Women’s Lacrosse Picked Eighth In Preseason Poll

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Women’s Lacrosse has been picked to finish eighth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll released by the league on Tuesday morning. Siena will look to new head coach Abigail Rehfuss this season.

The women received 22 points to find themselves in eighth place. Two-time defending MAAC Championships Canisius was picked as the favorite to repeat and received eight of nine first place votes. Fairfield (70) was picked second while Marist (59) rounded out the top-three. Niagara (53), Monmouth (45), Quinnipiac (34) and Iona (25) were all selected ahead of the Saints and Manhattan (17) was picked to finish ninth in the poll.

The women return three of their top five scorers from last season including MAAC Rookie of the Year, Alexis Deaken. Siena will begin their season at Siena Turf Field on Wednesday, February 21 at 2 p.m. when they host Colgate.
