LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Four Golden Griffins netted hat tricks as three-time defending MAAC Champion Canisius cruised past Siena Women's Lacrosse 20-8. Freshman attack Maddie Devine led the Saints with a season-high three points.

Canisius (7-5, 3-1) led throughout, although the Saints (3-9, 1-2) scored twice in the final 1:10 of the first half to pull within 10-5 at the break. Siena would get as close as 10-6 early in the second half, but the Golden Griffins responded with eight unanswered goals in just eight minutes to pull away.

Canisius out-shot the Saints 33-16 and held a 20-13 advantage in groundballs and 18-10 margin in draw controls.

Devine, Sarah Croutier and Alyssa Treanor all tallied two goals for the Saints which have lost nine straight to Canisius.

MAAC Preseason Co-Players of the Year Maria Kotas and Tori Quinn scored four goals apiece for the Golden Griffins. Kotas finished with a game-high six points and added four groundballs, four draw controls and caused four turnovers. Taylor Giglio and Ashley Bull each contributed hat tricks and Bull won 10 draw controls.

The Saints hit the road for their next two games and face Fairfield Saturday at 1 p.m.
