LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -The Siena women's lacrosse team (0-5) scored the games final three goals but their rally fell short 12-8 against Stonehill (3-0) at Frank Bailey Field in Schenectady, N.Y., this afternoon. Siena outshot Division II's top ranked team for, Stonehill, 25-24.
Freshman Ryan Tierney had a team-high three points with a goal and an assist in the loss. She also scooped up three ground balls.
Siena got two goals each from Stephanie DiMari and Amy Schoonmaker. The duo combined for four goals on five shot attempts.
Michelle Eide added a goal and an assist to round out the multi-point finishers for the Saints.
Sarah Elliot had a team-high five ground balls this afternoon.
Siena held a 1-0 edge and then tied it up at two before Stonehill finished the game scoring 10 of the final 16 goals.
Stonehill was led by a five-point effort from Kristin Darrell who fired home two shots and setup three other goals with her adept passing.
Siena is back in action on Thursday, March 23, as they travel upstate to play Binghamton with a 4 p.m. start time.
