Berheide comes to Siena from Skidmore College where she was a four-year student athlete and starter for the lacrosse program.

"Sarah is an incredible addition to our program," said head coach Jake McHerron. "She brings tremendous knowledge and valuable experience and I am delighted for her to be here."

Berheide holds the Skidmore career records for both goals against average (7.01) and save percentage (.594).

Berheide was named to the Division III North/South All-Star team as a senior. In 2003, Berheide received Brine, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and U.S. Lacrosse All-American honors. She was named to the IWLCA Division III Regional All-American Team four straight years (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006). As a student athlete Berheide served on the Skidmore College Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Berheide earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in women's studies from Skidmore. In 2006 she earned the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award and was an ESPN District 1 Lacrosse Academic All American First Team selection.
