LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head women's golf coach Dave Wronowski announced the signing of Catherine Shomo to play collegiate golf at Siena College. Shomo, a native of Rutland, Vermont, will add even more talent to a Saints roster that has won six-straight MAAC titles.

"We are very excited to have Catherine not only as a member of our women's golf program but as a member of the Siena community," Wronowski said. "Catherine comes to Siena with the talent, desire and experience necessary to succeed at the Division 1 collegiate level. I expect Catherine to have an immediate impact on our program's continued success upon her arrival at Siena in the fall."

While at Rutland High School, Shomo was a New England High School Golf Champion in 2006, a top-three finisher in the 2006 Vermont Women's Amateur Championships, a top-10 finisher in the 2006 New England Women's Amateur Championships and a 3-time Vermont High School Division 1 medalist.

The Saints begin the spring season on February 24, when they will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the two-day Bethune-Cookman Invitational.
