Junior Victoria Nguyen is currently tied for third as the Saints are participating in the St. John's Invitational in East Meadow, N.J. The Saints (317) are four strokes behind the overall leader, St. John's.

The Saints are looking to continue their success after last week's sweep at the ECAC Championships. Nguyen (77) heads into the second round of play two strokes behind the leader, Rachel Carpenter (75) of St. John's University.

"Overall we played well considering the difficult scoring conditions," said Dave Wronowski. "We're looking forward to tomorrow and believe we have put ourselves in a good position to win."

Valerie Wijaya is tied in eighth place after shooting an opening round 79 and is within striking distance from the overall leader. Last week's ECAC Medalist, Kylie Strijek also started strong for the Saints, shooting an 80 to finish five strokes off the lead.

Rounding out the Saints are freshmen Kristen Bromley and Stephanie Sullivan. They both played well on the day, shooting an 81 and 87, respectively.

The Saints are in position to improve their opening round standings and compete for the team and individual championships on Tuesday morning.
