Siena Women’s Golf finished eighth out of 13 teams at the Hartford Hawks Women’s Invitational at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Freshman Grace Cuttone led the Saints individually finishing 11th overall.
Quinnipiac overcame an 11-stroke deficit entering the final 18 holes to edge Brown by just one shot to capture the team championship. Meanwhile the Saints improved their score by six strokes in the Final Round, to finish just two strokes behind La Salle and only three shots off sixth place LIU Brooklyn’s final score.
Sacred Heart’s Chelsea Sedlar captured the individual championship with rounds of 76 and 73. Cuttone moved up four spots on the individual leaderboard on the final day to finish seven strokes off the lead. After shooting an Opening Round score of 80, Cuttone carded a 76.
Junior Sara Riso also posted a top-20 finish with consecutive rounds of 81 to place tied for 19th. Freshman Abigail Chai-Onn wasn’t far behind in finishing tied for 24th overall with rounds of 81 and 83.
The Saints return to the course in two weeks for their final fall event with the Brown Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island.
