Senior captain Bridget Carr fired a match low score of 78 to lead the Siena women's golf team to victory over Niagara this afternoon in an 18-hole event held at the Lafayette Hills Country Club in Jamesville, N.Y. The Saints shot a team score of 342 while Niagara totaled 398.

Carr started off strong on the front nine, shooting a +1 score of 36 including a birdie on the par-4 ninth. Fellow captains Catherine Shomo (78) and Katelynn Mannix (80) also were impressive for the Saints, although they did not have their scores counted towards Siena's final tally.

Niagara, which fielded a team to join the newly restructured seven-team MAAC for this season, was led by Brittany Siechen's score of 85.

The Saints return to action Saturday for their first fall invitational when they travel to Hanover, N.H. for the annual Dartmouth Invitational.
