Siena Women’s Golf teed off its 2017 season Saturday, with the first 36 of 54 holes of action at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Saints stand 10th in the 11-team field, while junior Sara Riso is tied for fourth overall individually.

Georgetown leads the field, while harboring a two-stroke advantage over both host Rutgers and Delaware. Siena improved its second round total by eight strokes, and the Saints ranked third in the field with eight birdies.

Riso fired rounds of 74 and 77, respectively, to stand just six strokes behind clubhouse leader Alexa Popowitz of Georgetown. Both Riso and freshman Alexis Annarummo each birdied three holes.

Final round action concludes Sunday.
