Siena Women's Golf stands 24TH out of 24 teams following the Second Round of the NCAA Central Regional at Karsten Creek Country Club in Stillwater, Okla. Junior Vitcoria Nguyen paced the Saints in the second round, shooting a 78 on the day.
The Saints shot a team score of 342 in the second round, dropping them 10-strokes behind Long Island on the par-72, 6,200-yard layout. UCLA improved by 10-strokes to take the lead after 36 holes.
Nguyen is currently tied for 86th after shooting a combined 158 after 36 of 54 holes today.
Sophomore Valerie Wijaya is six strokes behind Nguyen. Wijaya shot an 86 in the second round.
Rounding out the Saints scoring is Kristen Bromley, Katie Nelson and Kylie Strijek. Strijek, the MAAC’s individual champion, had to withdraw as she aggravated a previous injury. Bromley improved on day one by one –stroke, scoring an 85 for a combined 169. Nelson placed 124th with a 91 and 94 for a total 185 through the first 36 holes.
The Saints will once again be paired with Long Island and Wichita State when they tee off Final Round action at 12:55 p.m. Central Time (11:55 a.m. ET) Saturday morning.
