Women’s Golf Places Third in Final Spring Tune-Up

Siena Women’s Golf concluded the regular season portion of its 2016-17 schedule with a third place finish at Sacred Heart’s SHU Spring Invitational at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Connecticut. Senior Kristen Bromley and sophomore Sara Riso each finished tied for 11th overall individually.

Wagner won the team championship, defeating host Sacred Heart by five strokes. The Saints were 18 shots off the pace in the seven-team field. Siena bested fellow MAAC competitors Fairfield and Hartford by three and five strokes, respectively, in a tightly contested battle.

Bromley and Riso each fired rounds of 82 to finish eight strokes behind co-champions Pacalle Tego and Ariana Furrie from the Seahawks. Riso and classmate Ashley Nguyen each ranked second amongst the field with three birdies, and Riso paced the Saints with nine pars.

Next up for the Saints are the 2017 MAAC Golf Championships which tee off Friday at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
