The Siena women’s golf team endured tough conditions to finish second by two strokes in the Roar-ee Invitational in Suffern, N.Y. Cortney Tilley had the best finish for Siena finishing two strokes behind the leader.
“The conditions were very difficult,” head coach Dave Wronowski said. “It was cold and heavy rain. The girls battled for every shot.”
Tilley finished nine over par for a sixth overall finish, while Valerie Wijaya playing in her second collegiate event had an 11th place showing.
“Everyone contributed and we’re making progress,” Wronowski said. “We’re excited to go to the Brown Invite where the conditions will be better.”
MAAC school Boston University was the overall winner, topping the Saints by just two strokes. There was a three way tie for the individual champion, with Kristyna Pavlickova of Boston University, Spenser Krut of Columbia, and Jane Lee of Dartmouth finishing seven over par.
Only 18 holes were played with the weather conditions cancelling the extra round.
Siena is back in action this weekend at the Brown Invitational starting Sunday, April 14th.
