Siena Women’s Golf wrapped up play at LIU Brooklyn’s Lonnie Barton Invitational to tee off the spring season at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Saints finished tied for eighth in the 12-team field, while three individuals were separated by just one stroke over the 36-hole event.
Fairleigh Dickinson led throughout in claiming the team championship by a 17-shot margin over runner-up North Carolina A&T. The Knight’s Gabriela Santini captured the individual title by one stroke following identical rounds of 74.
Siena fired rounds of 326 and 334 to tie with Southern Indiana. Junior Sara Riso and freshman Grace Cuttone finished tied for 20th overall, while freshman Abigail Chai-Onn was just one stroke back of the pairing for the tournament. Riso paced the Saints with a Final Round score of 80.
Siena returns to action for Morehead State’s Citrus Classic Mar. 18-20 at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida.
