Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena Field Hockey honors its five seniors when the Saints host new MAAC member Quinnipiac for Senior Day at 1:00 p.m. at Siena Turf Field. The ceremony will begin at 12:40 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the start of the game.
The Saints are coming off of their historic win on Friday afternoon when they defeated Sacred Heart 2-0 in Connecticut. The win snapped the Saints 54-game losing streak and their 64-game road-losing streak. Siena is looking to build on the momentum and send the seniors off with a win in front of their home town fans.
The Saints' senior class consists of Lindsay Mayo, Jessica Smith, Cory dela Gorgendiere, Michaela Sullivan and Siena's All-Time Saves leader, Beth Meyers.
"This senior group is special. They are the glue that holds the team together. Each one of them possess leadership qualities that are important to the team," said coach Kara Zappone. "Our team's improvement is a direct result of their hard work both on and off the field."
Come out to Siena Turf Field and help us celebrate and honor our Senior Class 2013 and cheer them on to another victory against Quinnipiac.
