LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - After recording the program's first shutout in nearly three years, Siena Field Hockey freshman goalie Beth Meyers was recognized for her strong effort. The Guilderland, N.Y. native has been named Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the award with Monmouth's Alex Carroll.

In the Saints' home opener Thursday against Holy Cross, Meyers turned away all six shots that she faced to earn her first collegiate win and shutout. Yesterday, she added a career-high nine saves in a 1-0 defeat at Fairfield.

For the week, Meyers stopped 15 shots and recorded a .938 save percentage. With her solid showing, Meyers now ranks second amongst all NEC goalies with a .733 save percentage for the season.

Meyers and the Saints return to action Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Colgate.
