LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Eight days of waiting is over. The Siena Field Hockey team returns to action Thursday afternoon for their first game since Sept. 1 and first home tilt of the season when they host Holy Cross at 4 p.m.

Siena (0-3) returns home from a season-opening three game road trip to Virginia where the Green and Gold dropped contests to Appalachian State, Longwood and Radford. Holy Cross (0-2) meanwhile will be playing for the third time in six days after opening the month with defeats against Harvard and Boston College.

This will be the first of six home dates for the Saints in 2010. Last year, Siena captured four victories here at Siena Turf Field, tying the most ever home wins the program had posted in a season (2002) since joining the Division I ranks in 1993.

Last season, these two squads played to one of the most exciting games of the year in Worcester. The Saints opened a 4-2 second half lead as the team scored its most goals in a game in three years. But the Crusaders responded with three unanswered goals including the game-winner in double overtime in a 5-4 final.
