Final Stats

Siena Field Hockey fell to LIU Brooklyn 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. Junior midfielder Nicole Miller assisted sophomore forward Brianna Muniz on her third goal of the season.

Saints (0-13, 0-3) were edged 19-11 in shots against the Blackbirds (2-12, 2-2).

Siena and LIU Brooklyn put up a strong defensive front to start the game. Six minutes into the game Blackbirds would hold a 3-0 edge in shots until senior midfielder Molly Hagen took the first shot on goal for the Saints. Siena would then go on a 6-0 run in shots. LIU Brooklyn would finally take their 4th shot over 20 minutes into the game.

At 26:54 LIU Brooklyn’s Eva Scholten would score the first goal of the game giving the Blackbirds the 1-0 lead heading into the second half.

Start of the second half Saints and Blackbirds would put up a defensive battle.

At 47:58 Jenna Chrabolowski would tack on another goal for LIU Brooklyn followed by a goal at 55:53 by Eveline Gielisse to extend their lead to 3-0.

Just two minutes and seven seconds after LIU Brooklyn scored Miller would cross the ball to Muniz who would put the ball through the defenders legs to score for the Saints.

Unfortunately, LIU Brooklyn would respond again just one minute and 28 seconds later with a goal from Brooke McGinley.

Blackbirds take the 4-1 win over the Saints.

Siena returns back home this Friday October 20, 2017 as they host Monmouth at Siena Turf Field in Loudonville, NY at 3 p.m.
