Junior standout Lacee Iselo (Rome, N.Y.) scored Siena's (3-6/3-4 NEC) first and last goals in a convincing conference win over Saint Francis (Pa.) (0-12/0-7 NEC) in Loudonville Saturday afternoon. The win snapped a four-game losing skid for Siena.
Iselo's first tally came just over one minute into the game as she scored an unassisted goal to break the ice. Kaitlin Auciello (Uxbridge, Mass./Uxbridge) came off the bench to score her first goal with nine minutes left in the first half to give the Saints a 2-0 lead at the intermission.
Erin Mead (Chestertown, N.Y.) got the Saints on the board for the third time eight minutes into the second half. The unassisted goal was Mead's second in as many games. Iselo rounded out the scoring with her team-leading sixth goal five minutes later.
Siena's team defense was the story of the game as the Saints held the Red Flash without a shot until the game's final moments. Saint Francis ended up with just two shots (both saved by Siena's Alexandra Stubbs) compared to 13 for the Saints in dropping their 12th game of the season.
Siena returns to action at Siena Field at noon tomorrow against UMBC.
