Siena's senior class accounted for all five goals, as the Saints (1-8/1-0 NEC) picked up their initial victory of the season in their conference opener against St. Francis Pa. (0-7/0-3 NEC) in Loudonville Saturday afternoon. Lacee Iselo notched two tallies to lead all scorers, inching within four goals of the school's all-time goal lead.
Amanda Fronhofer broke the ice just under five minutes into the game finding the back of the cage with a rebound. Fronhofer's tally held up through the first half, before the Saints exploded for four second half goals to break the game open.
Siena erupted in the second half to the tune of 16 shots and four scored. Ashley Smaldon's unassisted goal at the 40-minute mark provided a measure of insurance for the victors, and Iselo promptly followed with her two goals. Her first tally came less than one minute after Smaldon's and her second just three minutes later, broke the game side open. Fronhofer assisted Iselo's first goal and the second came off a penalty corner.
Erin Mead's second goal of the season came on a fast break with 20 minutes remaining in the game to account for the final score.
The Saints now have eight days off before returning to NEC action against Monmouth at Siena Field next Sunday.
